Although he’s not getting the chances he deserves, one can never rule out a fact that Manish Pandey is one of the best in the business currently. His outstanding temperament and versatility to adapt to any situation makes him quite a valuable cricketer and the bidding war he induced in the IPL Auction in January is a testament to that fact.
The Bangalore Times magazine ranked Manish Pandey 14th in the list of most eligible bachelors in and around the Garden City. People are well aware of Pandey’s good looks and in a city like Bangalore where the population of youngsters is so high, this indeed is quite an achievement for the 28-year-old batsman.
Manish Pandey was an integral part of the U19 Indian side led by Virat Kohli in 2008, who went on to triumph in the World Cup hosted by Malaysia. With his former U19 colleague and current Indian skipper Kohli tying the knot to Anushka Sharma in December 2017, he has become one of the most eligible bachelors in the country.
The New Poster Boy of Indian Cricket
The magazine also quoted that he has the looks which are good enough to qualify as a model and not many can debate over that. He also was termed the new Poster boy of Indian T20 side, stating that his recent performances in South Africa might be one of the reasons behind him being called so. Pandey has a long way ahead of him and with all the competition existing for the middle order slots, there’s no way his performances can dip in the near future.
After entering the limelight by becoming the first-ever Indian cricketer to score a century in the IPL, Manish Pandey later represented Pune Warriors India but found no success. His stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders made him a force to reckon with and his knock of 94 in the IPL 2014 final is still rated as one of the best in the game’s history. The Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for a whopping INR 11 Crore in this year’s auction.
