Manjot Kalra and Shubman Gill cleared their intentions for this year's IPL
The Indian youngsters will be hoping to make a mark in the upcoming edition of the IPL.
Recently concluded Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand saw the rise of Indian Cricket as they clinch their fourth World Cup title. Prithvi Shaw and his men were able to outclass the opposition in almost every game they played and won each game by a huge margin, which helps populous know the direction Indian Cricket is heading. With some scintillating performances with the bat to some superlative spells by the ball, it won’t be wrong to say that these young budding cricketers have been able to prove their stature at this level.
Many of these youngsters have got an opportunity to continue their good stint and prove themselves at an even bigger stage as they were bought by many Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises. With Prithvi Shaw playing under the guidance of one of the greatest left-handers India has ever produced, to the star of Under-19 World Cup Shubman Gill and Kamlesh Nagarkoti who have been bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for whopping prices.
Hoping to do well in IPL
The man of the all-important final, Manjot Kalra helped media know that he is eyeing the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League to be in the limelight of the selectors. He along with Shubman Gill, who is currently taking part in the premier one-day tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy said, “I hope to play well in the IPL.”
At this age, Manjot Kalra idealizes Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan and knows the importance to stay fit if he wishes to play for India. The current change in the parameter of selection has made it mandatory for each and every player to pass the yo-yo test for selection. Keeping this in mind, Manjot said, “I hope to be fit like Virat and Shikhar.”
It will be interesting to see whether he is able to make is thoughts turn into action.
