Manoj Tiwary reacts to Farokh Engineer's statement on Indian selectors serving tea to Anushka Sharma
'A low blow from Farokh'
Former Indian wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer lambasted on the Indian selection committee led by MSK Prasad. And this was not the first occasion that India’s selection panel had to face a rage from a former Indian cricketer. Earlier, Sunil Gavaskar had also quoted them as “lame ducks” when selectors announced the squad for West Indies without having a team meeting.
Indian selectors were brought under scrutiny when they dropped Ambati Rayudu and picked Vijay Shankar in the World Cup squad. Now, Farokh has made some strong claims on the selection committee and also revealed a hilarious activity of the Indian selectors on what they were doing in the recently concluded mega event.
During an interview given to TOI, former gloveman recalled an incident that occurred during the World Cup 2019, where he had seen a person wearing Indian blazer was serving coffee to Anushka Sharma and that thing didn’t please him. He didn’t know him until that person came and introduced himself as one of the Indian selectors.
“I didn’t even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him ‘who the hell he was’ because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was one of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma (Kohli’s wife) cups of tea,” Farokh Engineer said as per Times of India

This interview was published by the premium Indian daily. And a person shared a picture of it, on his Twitter Handle, in which a statement that was given by Farokh was kept highlighted by the newspaper. Later, that post caught the eye of Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary, who explicitly looked in support of former Indian cricketer, and wrote in his tweet, “That’s a low blow from Farook Engineer. A statement like this makes u think a lot of things”

81-year old feels that Indian selectors are less qualified in terms of their cricket experience as no member has played more than 20 matches in any respective format for the country. Recently, former Indian opener turned commentator Virender Sehwag backed former Indian coach Anil Kumble to be the National Selector.
