‘Mauka Mauka’ Bangladesh and Pakistan fans trolling BCCI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters’ has turned into a busy place all of a sudden. Since MS Dhoni and his team lost to Australia in the World Cup 2015 semi-final and were thus knocked out of the championship race, the BCCI has been receiving frequent calls trolling the board and its team.

‘Mauka Mauka’ was viewed and sung in more than thousand ways all along India’s journey in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. A successful campaign launched by the official broadcasters the Star Sports Network is coming back at the BCCI, as India beat both Pakistan and Bangladesh in the world cup 2015; the Indian fans made a lot of fun of those of the other two teams, via the Mauka Mauka.

So, as soon as the Indian cricket team bowed out of the world cup the BCCI headquarters’ has been receiving calls with people asking them, ‘Mauka Mauka, kya hua mauke ka?’ which means ‘Chance chance, what happened to your chance?’. Those at the Board’s office have been having a tough time answering those calls and beyond a point were irritated enough to trace them back.

A BCCI staff on terms of anonymity was reported saying, “The BCCI office number is available on our website. These over-zealous people were simply happy that India lost,” “They pulled a prank on us but after a point it got really irritating.

He also added that, “The advertisement was popular but I didn’t expect it to come back at us like this.”

It was confirmed to the Board by the telecom company that most of these calls were made from neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“We got the telephone company to trace the origin of these calls. A large number of them were from Bangladesh, while the rest were from Pakistan.

“This is the first time we have received calls from outside the country to mock the Indian team’s performance.”

The fans seem to have not only taken the ad campaign a bit to serious but also the loss they suffered in the world cup to the hands of India and are trying their best to give back whatever is in their capacity.
