'MI could have got rid of Quinton de Kock, Chris Lynn scored runs' - Brian Lara unhappy on dropping Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians are playing their latest match against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021. As the defending champions are suffering from their rough patch, they decided to make some changes in their playing XI ahead of the match against RR. MI dropped their middle-order batsman Ishan Kishan from their playing XI and this has not gone well with West Indies legend Brian Lara. Lara added that in that manner, wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock should also have been left out.

Lara is of the opinion that Mumbai have been struggling with the form of their batsmen and each of them has struggled. Since the team have only two wins in their five games, it’s just not about the one batsman who should suffer. Lara further backed Chris Lynn by stating that De Kock continues to get a chance despite Lynn’s performance in his absence. Lynn has only got one chance so far and he smashed 49 runs in that game against RCB.

“Sometimes you need to be very careful, you are leaving Chennai, you go to give everybody a chance because everyone struggled in Chennai. Even you could have got rid of Quinton de Kock, Chris Lynn scored runs but you will not and try him again. I would have gone with Ishan Kishan just once more and see how his form is. On his day he is a match-winner,” Lara told Sports Today.

Ajit Agarkar presents opinion on MI winning the toss

Ishan Kishan was struggling in the last games of Mumbai as he could just produce 73 runs at an average of 14.60, striking at 82.95. Talking about MI’s current clash, they have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar feels that the toss factor can play a big role in the game.

“It could end being a good toss to win. I saw the pitch, there was water on it at about 1:30 pm because it’s so hot. It might start a bit slow and get better. A good toss to win. In the afternoon game in Delhi, second innings seem to play a little bit bitter,” Agarkar added.
