Ever since the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League has concluded, cricket experts and pundits are turning up in massive numbers with their opinions. Commentators and analysts around the world are talking on various subject matters, and choosing favourite batsmen from IPL 2020 has been their favourite topic. The latest one in line is former English player and commentator Michael Vaughan who has picked his top 5 batsmen from the season.
In the latest video put up by Cricbuzz, Vaughan chose his best batters. He started from batsman no 5, and the slot has been dedicated to KXIP skipper KL Rahul. The prolific batsman remained the Orange Cap winner of the season with massive 670 runs in his bag in just 14 matches at an average of 55.83. Though his team didn’t qualify for the playoffs, he turned all the heads by collecting maximum runs in his bag.
Moving on to no 4, Quinton de Kock was given the place for his absolute heroics for the champion team. He amassed 483 runs under his belt at a strike rate of 139.60 and turned out to be Mumbai’s hero on more than one occasion. The great thing about Vaughan’s pick was, apart from KL Rahul, all the batsmen came up from Mumbai Indians’ lot. Next, he chose all-rounder Kieron Pollard at no 3 position.
Pollard got 259 runs on his credit in 11 innings at a splendid strike rate of 190.44. His form remained too crucial for Mumbai throughout the season. The no 2 spot in Vaughan’s list is sealed by big hitter Hardik Pandya. Pandya accumulated 278 runs with his willow at a stunning strike rate of 182.89. The ultimate position in his list is secure by none other than Suryakumar Yadav.
The hero of Mumbai Indians can play any type of ball with utmost perfection and can send it to the boundary. His omission from the squad for Australia is also under too much debate. Cricket experts around the world are heaping praises on the consistent hero of Mumbai Indians. He gathered 281 runs in his bag in 14 matches at an average of 41.91.
