Michael Vaughan rubbishes a fan for supporting MS Dhoni in no-ball incident
Dhoni has been fined 50 percent of his match-fees.
The match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur turned out to be a closely-fought affair. In the end, the MS Dhoni-led Super Kings won by three wickets courtesy of a last-ball six over the long on fence by Mitchell Santner. However, the last over, bowled by Ben Stokes, was marred by a small controversy.
In the fourth ball of the over, Stokes bowled a full toss and on-field umpire Ulhas Gandhe called it a no-ball. But Bruce Oxenford, the leg-umpire said that the ball wasn’t above the waist and hence the decision had to be reversed. Ravindra Jadeja, at the non-striker’s end, went into a heated argument with the umpires after which CSK captain MS Dhoni joined in.
MS Dhoni got animated yesterday
He was in no mood to relax even as Stokes tried to calm him down. Thereafter, Dhoni was fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching IPL’s Code of Conduct. Dhoni accepted the sanction. In the meantime, the fans are divided on their opinions about the matter. While many backed Dhoni, a few of them felt that walking into the park wasn’t a right move on Dhoni’s part.
Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan shut down a fan, who tried to back Dhoni’s action yesterday in the Pink City. The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “There is nothing wrong in what Dhoni did today, we seen upto now that how many mistakes that umpire’s did this season as a captain if he didn’t fought for his own team then he shouldn’t take the charge of captaincy,”

Vaughan replied to the supporter and wrote, “Don’t tweet utter Rubbish … As a Captain you have to respect the Umpires decision … it was a terrible example to set …,”
