Mitchell Johnson fires the warning shots for Aussie pacers
Former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson has fired the warning shots for the likes of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood after the duo were rested for a small chunk of cricket against the visiting Sri Lankans. However, despite all of this, Johnson has warned the Australia management about the workload the bowlers are going through at the moment. Moreover, the demoralizing defeats both home and away is perhaps something that is the resultant of the amounts of cricket played.
Johnson went on to add that the amounts of cricket being played was certain to have the amount of burnout at the moment. He also added that the likes of Starc and Hazelwood only had breaks before the summer began while the disastrous tour of South Africa that they eventually missed.
“There’s a lot of cricket going on and there’s a lot of burnout. I can see it with the Australian quicks now, looking at Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood. They had a little bit of a break before the summer started, they missed out (on playing) in South Africa. That (tour) was a disaster for Australia.
Mitchell Johnson also believes that the body language of certain players in the side makes it incredibly difficult for them to draw the line for the same. It is indeed difficult for a lot of cricketers at the moment.
“I can see the amount of overs that they are bowling, I can see with body language with certain guys, it will catch up with them. It’s very difficult and where do you draw the line? It is very difficult for a lot of the cricketers. You just have to manage yourself the best you can because you want to play every game.”
