The Pakistan Team may find itself in trouble with their premier pacer, Mohammad Amir having been injured in the second Test against Sri Lanka. The two teams have gone head-to-head with each other in a series comprising two Tests, five ODIs and three T20s. Sri Lanka currently leads the Test series by 1-0.

The first Test between the two teams saw a good contest which resulted in Sri Lanka winning the match by 21 runs. The second Test has witnessed Sri Lanka accrue a hefty 400+ lead, with Dimuth Karunaratne missing out on a double ton by just 4 runs. Reportedly, Amir has suffered from a foot injury, following an MRI scan.

Mohammad Amir limps off the field after injury

It was in the first day of play in the second Test match that Mohammad Amir hurt his right shin. After having delivered just 3 balls of his 17th over, the injury saw him off the field. Amir was forced to return to the dressing room with the foot ailment. However, he returned to resume his spell on the second day. It did not go in his favour as he limped off the playing turf after bowling just 2 overs due to discomfort.

According to Cricbuzz, an official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the injury and further revealed that the Pakistani pace spearhead had been taken for an MRI scan to adjudge the severity of his condition. If the injury does turn out to be serious, it might act as an impediment to Pakistan’s attempt at levelling the series, especially with Sri Lanka already having registered a considerable total on the board, with 4 wickets remaining.

As for Amir’s bowling exploits, he went wicket-less in the first Test match. The ongoing second Test saw him bowl 19.3 overs and pick up the wicket of Sadeera Samarawickrama, while conceding 74 runs.
