Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez has expressed his unhappiness after being ignored for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. The veteran cricketer could not find a place in the 16 man squad as PCB ignored him for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. Hafeez has played only in three Tests this year, all against England during the recent overseas tour.
He was mediocre and could muster only 102 runs in the series. The 36-year-old was dropped for the fourth and final Test in England because of poor form after which he sustained a knee injury during the first ODI in England and had to return home for treatment. He tweeted: Insha Allah. As a batsman, my stats r witness in the last 1 year…Unfortunately, ppl don’t know, don’t want to know & don’t follow. Love u all.

Chief selector Inzamam ul Haq clarifies that the Test team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions in New Zealand and the recent performances of players in the recent Test series against England and West Indies. He said that the selection panel stuck with the same combination of players who did well against against England and West Indies series earlier.
Rumours also suggest that the selectors decided to ignore Hafeez after he failed a bowling test at the PCB’s biomechanic lab in Lahore. Hafeez has not been able to bowl since mid-2015 after the ICC declared his bowling action illegal.
“Basically the selectors wanted to see if Hafeez could clear the preliminary bowling assessment test in Lahore after which the PCB would have sent him for the ICC bowling assessment test in England,” one source said.
The first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played from November 17-21 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch followed by the second Test from November 25 to 29 at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
