Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has now got the backing of team Indian pacer Mohammed Shami on the social media. Kaif was recently seen in the firing line of a few religious bigots. He faced the hate comments on the social media after he had posted pictures of him doing the ‘Surya Namaskar’ – the Sun Salutation. It all started a couple of days ago when the former cricketer posted pictures doing exercise under the morning sun.

The pictures got him a negative response from a bunch of people who felt that doing and promoting Surya namaskar is unIslamic. Kaif had tweeted the pictures along with the caption, “Surya Namaskar is a complete workout for the physical system, a comprehensive exercise form without any need for equipment.”

The haters were quick to point out that Kaif’s adopted form of exercise was against the religion he practices, clearly making the fact clear that even exercises have religion and should be followed by the people of that particular reason only. However, Kaif took to social media again to defend himself. He didn’t hold himself back and gave an immediate reply to all the nonsensical people on his profile.

“In all four pics, I had Allah in my heart. Can’t understand what doing any exercise, Surya Namaskar or gym, has to do with religion. It benefits all,” wrote the former cricketer.

While there were a few who posted hate comments for Kaif, there were plenty who stood by his corner. Now, in the most recent time, he received the backing of India’s premier pace bowler Mohammed Shami. The Indian quickie took to social media to show his support to Kaif. Mohammed Shami wrote, “@MohammadKaif proud of you kaif bhai kiya bat hai.. Good for health Surya Namaskar is a complete workout fr the physical system.”

Interestingly, both players share a great camaraderie. A couple of weeks ago, when Mohammed Shami was under the scrutiny over the picture of his wife being unIslamic, it was Mohammad Kaif who was one of the first people to speak in defence of Shami. The favour has surely been fittingly returned back to Kaif from Shami’s end now.
