Mohammad Kaif's son feels hitting Shoaib Akhtar was easy; latter responds
Star Sports has gone down the memory lane for the fans during this lockdown period.
Star Sports has gone down the memory lane during the quarantine times for their die-hard cricket fans. With no live action in progress in cricket, they have started showing ball-by-ball matches between India and Pakistan in the 50-over World Cups. It was time for the epic 2003 World Cup clash between the arch-rivals on Tuesday as India relived Sachin Tendulkar‘s amazing knock at the top of the order.
The battle between him and Shoaib Akhtar was the one to watch out for and the former clearly won it. However, Mohammad Kaif who batted at four in that game couldn’t really quite get going but stitched a crucial third-wicket partnership with Tendulkar. Kaif mustered 35 runs and took 60 deliveries for it and also Akhtar’s express pace of around 150 kph often during his knock.
However, Kaif’s son Kabir didn’t seem to be impressed with the way his father faced Shoaib Akhtar. Kabir felt that it should’ve been easy for his father to hit the Rawalpindi express due to the pace he was generating. Mohammad Kaif himself took to Twitter to thank Star Sports for telecasting as his son was finally able to watch the classic clash.
Moreover, the 39-year-old also informed that his son didn’t like the way he tackled Akhtar. “Thanks to @StarSportsIndia, finally Kabir gets to relive that historic #INDvPAK game. But junior isn’t too impressed with Papa, says hitting @shoaib100mph must be easy since there is pace in his bowling. Kids today I tell you…phew! #QuaranTime #LifeInLockdown,” Kaif’s tweet read.

Shoaib Akhtar asks Kaif for a match between their sons
Despite the strained relations between the two countries, India and Pakistan cricketers share a great camaraderie and it was once again on show. Shoaib Akhtar, as soon as he spotted Mohammad Kaif‘s tweet, responded to it and challenge the Indian for a match between their sons so that Kabir gets his answers about pace. However, it was all in good spirits as the Pakistan great didn’t forget to give his love to the kid as well.
“Toh phir @MohammadKaif match ho jaaye Kabir aur Mikael Ali Akhtar ka? He’ll get his answers about Pace. Haha Give him my love,” Akhtar’s reply read.
