Most people had anticipated Yousuf to name any former cricketer from his country.

However, to their surprise, the former batsman chose the name of Sachin Tendulkar as well as Brian Lara as his favourite players of the sport. Both Sachin and Lara were exemplary when they donned jerseys of their respective countries. Their record speaks for their class and both the legends had the potential to win a match single-handedly for their side.
Like Tendulkar and Lara, Mohammad Yousuf had also delivered many match-winning performances for his side during the course of his illustrious career. The 45-year-old represented Pakistan in ODIs as well as Tests and cemented his place as one of the vital cogs of their batting force.
In an impressive career, Yousuf represented the national side in Tests in 90 matches where he amassed 7530 runs. The right-hander also struck 24 tons and 33 half-centuries at an impressive average of 52.29 with the red ball.
While donning the coloured jersey for Pakistan, the right-handed batsman amassed 9720 runs in 288 matches at an average of 41.71. Yousuf also had 15 tons and 64 half-centuries under his belt during his ODI stint with Pakistan. He donned the national jersey for the last time in an ODI against South Africa at Dubai in 2010 before bidding adieu to the sport.
