Mohammed Shami has been going through a rough patch for the past few weeks. The pacer has been accused of cheating, domestic violence, attempt to murder and even match-fixing by his wife Hasin Jahan. This also forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to keep his contract on hold until the accusations were properly investigated.

Shami denied all the allegations and said that he was being defamed without any evidence. He had even passed a statement saying that he would rather die for the country than betraying for money. All this has also cast a shadow over his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 11.

The Committee of Administrators (CoA) recently asked the Anti Corruption Unit to investigate the fixing charges and file a report in seven days. When asked, Shami said that he is shaken following the whole incident and the way it has been portrayed in public. He asserted that it was taking a toll on him and wanted to get rid of the allegations soon.

“Past few days have been quite stressful. I have not eaten properly and the cricket practice has also come to a standstill. I am tired of repeating myself again and again. I want all the allegations against me to be investigated thoroughly,” he was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.

Hasin Jahan had accused the pacer of taking money from a Pakistani girl Alishba through some Mohammed Bhai in UK. The ACU has restricted the investigation only to the fixing charges.

Shami has been charged under various sections by the Kolkata police. In accordance with the Indian Penal Code, he has been booked under Section 498A – cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34 based on the complaints filed by his wife.
