Mohammed Shami's estranged wife Hasin Jahan removes his surname from daughter Aairah's name
Hasin Jahan hinted that she has given their daughter her surname.
India fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s marriage with Hasin Jahan has hit the rock bottom from quite some time now. Irreparable damage was done to their relationship after Jahan levelled some serious allegations against Shami in 2018. Jahan had sensationally made allegations of adultery, domestic violence and match-fixing against the cricketer.
Not only that, she had also lodged a police complaint against Shami. Following the incident, the BCCI had decided to withhold Shami’s contract. But later, things got normal for Shami as far as his career is concerned. The BCCI cleared him of match-fixing charges and also handed him a central contract. Since then, Shami has been an integral part of the team.
But the same cannot be said regarding his life off the field. In yet another sign of the deteriorating relationship between him and his estranged wife, the latter has removed the pacer’s surname from her daughter’s name. Jahan took to Instagram to share a picture of her daughter and hinted that she has dropped Shami’s surname from their daughter’s name.
‘Aairah Jahan’ – Jahan captioned the post, hinting that she has given their daughter her surname.

Mohammed Shami sidelined
Mohammed Shami is currently sidelined with a fractured forearm and will miss the upcoming Test series against England. The fast-bowler is not a part of the squad for the first two Tests and is unlikely to get fit in time for the remaining two Tests either. He is expected to return to action when the limited-overs series between India and England gets underway.
Shami had sustained the injury during the first Test against Australia in December. The fast bowler coped the nasty blow on his forearm while fending at a short delivery from Pat Cummins during India’s second innings in the Adelaide Test. He initially decided to bat on and got his right forearm taped but then walked off the field as India were all out for 36. Shami was consequently ruled out of the remainder of the series.
