Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami had to confront an unexpected altercation in Kolkata on Saturday night. He alongside his wife were returning home and his driver, who apparently was speeding up the car in a narrow lane, almost collided with a motorbike of a local youngster.
This led to a feud between the driver and the local. Before this turned into an ugly brawl, Shami got down from his car and tried to calm things down by turning a peacemaker. After realising it was the Indian fast-bowler’s car, the locals had consented to settle the matter and left the place. Shami and his driver too got in the car and reached their residence.
This anonymous local youngster hadn’t taken the backseat as yet and was still upset with what happened. He gathered his friends and the bunch tried to break into Shami’s home, which petrified him and his family members. The 27-year-old’s wife was not willing to make any more peace this time and turned to the local police for help.
The accused to be presented in the court
According to ABP News, The local Police had filed FIR against the locals who tried to barge in upon Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan’s request and were arrested later on. They will be presented in the court to debate the accusation of the Indian fast bowler. The court might try to settle things down and help both the parties calm down and it’d be fair to say, Shami has escaped a major scare.
Mohammed Shami will be a part of the Indian side that will tour Sri Lanka this month and after a two-year gap, he will be the full-fledged part of the Indian side after injuries have haunted his progress all this while. Scepticism surrounding his fitness vanished after he had performed well against West Indies in the recently concluded ODI series and he will now be eyeing a place in the playing XI in the longer version as well.
