Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan to meet Mamata Banerjee

There is a new twist in the Mohammed Shami-Hasin Jahan fiasco. Mrs Shami has now requested West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to meet her. Jahan is keen on telling the CM her side of the story. She claims that she was harassed, tortured and cheated by her husband and his family. After the pacer was charged with all the accusations, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put his central contract on hold albeit his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is under doubt as well.

Jahan had accused the Indian pacer of physical and mental torture, extra-marital affairs, attempt to murder among other charges. After the complaint, an FIR was filed against Shami under sections 498A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 323 (Causing hurt), 307 (Attempt to murder), 376 (Punishment for rape), 506 (Criminal intimidation), 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence.), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code against the cricketer and 4 others.

His wife claims that her fight is the one for truth. According to her, she wants Mamata Banerjee to keep an eye on the matter. “Madam, my fights is a fight for truth. I have been tortured, there is no fault of mine; I do not ask for your support, I only appeal that you just keep your eye on my fight for truth, meet me and listen to what I have to say and then judge what needs to be done,” she said.

“I want to meet you and share my pain with you. This is all I request of you,” Jahan requested the West Bengal CM. Earlier Shami had told the media how his wife had hidden the truth of her first marriage from him.

Jahan immediately responded to Shami’s claims by stating that “Instead of issuing an apology to me in front of Bengal Police and media persons, he is trying to hide his mistakes with false accusations. What is the point of it when an investigation is already underway?” The former cheerleader also told the media how Shami has several social media accounts and how he keeps changing the passwords every now and then.
