The Momentum One-Day Cup game between Highveld Lions and Multiply Titans on Wednesday will be a chartbuster with the inclusion of International players after completion of the home Test series against Sri Lanka. The Titans could well field with as many as ten players in their XI who have the experience of representing the Proteas in International cricket while the Lions also are expected to have seven. The Highveld Lions await for their maiden win of the tournament despite playing four matches.

They began the tournament with a 19-run defeat to Dolphins while chasing 343 despite Reeza Hendricks’ hundred. Both their home matches in Johannesburg were washed out before they lost to Cape Cobras by 21 runs while chasing 299 on Sunday. The Titans, on the other hand, chased down a target of 263 with 68 balls and nine wickets to spare against Knights. In their 2nd game against Dolphins, the Titans needed 28 from 25 balls with seven wickets in hand but scored only 16/5 in the last 5.1 overs.

Team News:

(Will be added when there is an update)

Power Picks:

Ryan Rickelton was impressive during the Mzansi Super League though he couldn’t convert starts on many occasions. Rickleton seemed to be a carbon copy of Quinton de Kock as the shots and intent with which he batted matched the South African International. The left-hander started the MODC 2019 with scores of 20 and 6. He will be gearing up to maximize against the star-studded Titans.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Tony de Zorzi, Wiaan Mulder and Theunis de Bruyn are in form players and have to be the first preferred for the captain or vice-captain roles.

Alternatives – Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Morris, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton.

Suggested Playing XI #1 for Head to Head/Small Leagues:

Keeper – Heinrich Klaasen

Batters – Reeza Hendricks (C), Rassie van der Dussen, Theunis de Bruyn, Tony de Zorzi (VC)

All-Rounders – Dwaine Pretorius, Wiaan Mulder, Kagiso Rapulana

Bowlers – Nono Pongolo, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lungi Ngidi

Suggested Playing XI #2 for Grand Leagues/Mega Leagues:

Keeper – Nicholas van den Bergh

Batters – Ryan Rickelton, Rassie van der Dussen (C), Aiden Markram, Theunis de Bruyn

All-Rounders – Chris Morris, Wiaan Mulder (VC)

Bowlers – Aaron Phangiso, Tabraiz Shamsi, Junior Dala, Kagiso Rabada

Expert Advice:

The likes of Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Dwaine Pretorius, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Wiaan Mulder and Dean Elgar collectively cost 76.5 points. If anyone has plans to pick all these eight, they will be left with 23.5 points for picking three players. No player in this game is of less than eight credits. Even if a fantasy team is filled with 6-7 players among the above mentioned eight, it could be in troubles if one of the teams suffer a dramatic collapse.

Probable Winners:

The Titans are expected to extend the Lions’ wait for registering their maiden win of the tournament.
