Revered as one of the best batters of his time, Jayawardene was just as influential in the field, taking a whopping 15 catches in the ODI format of the Asia Cup over the years.

Jayawardene is closely followed by former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan who took 14 catches in the ODI Asia Cup. In third place, sits former Sri Lanka cricketer Aravinda de Silva who took 12 catches. The top three are followed by Muthiah Muralidaran with 10 catches, Roshan Mahanama and Suresh Raina with eight catches each.

Talking about the T20 format of the Asia Cup, Babar Hayat and Soumya Sarkar are tied in first place with six catches each to their names. They are closely followed by Iftikhar Ahmed and Pathum Nissanka who are tied in second place with five catches. Third place is occupied by Wanindu Hasaranga with four catches to his name.
