MS Dhoni's biopic has garnered 60 crores before its release
One of the most awaited Bollywood movies of the year, the biopic on the Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story,’ has started making money in the market. It is doing really well from the economic perspective as it has already bagged 60 crores.
The makers of the film spent Rs. 80 crores on the production of the film and they have already earned 45 crores for its satellite rights and 15 crores from all the brands that have been involved with the film. Apart from the 15 crores, the brands of the film will also be spending more on advertising and promotions in the coming days.
The film covers not just Dhoni’s successes but his entire cricketing journey. The trailer was an instant success on YouTube with 6 million-plus views in less than 24 hours. The producers of the movie have dubbed the film in different languages. Tamil and Telugu versions of the trailer have already been released. However, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s film affairs wing Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (CKS) have allegedly objected to the makers’ idea of dubbing the film in Marathi.
Sushant Singh Rajput will play the title role of MS Dhoni in the biopic. The movie will also have the characters of several Indian cricketers in the likes of Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.
