MS Dhoni and family attend Poorna Patel's Sangeet Ceremony

After completing his duties in England, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni rushed back to Mumbai with his family to attend the sangeet ceremony of his wife’s close friend Poorna Patel. Poorna Patel is the daughter of former civil aviation minister Praful Patel. This ceremony proved to be a starry one as some of India’s biggest cricketing stars attended it on Thursday.

Poorna Patel will get married to industrialist Namit Soni today as a part of the three-day wedding ceremony which began yesterday. Soni, as per reports, is the Managing Director at Namco Industries Private Limited and is a graduate from Fisher College of Business, America. Poorna is a great friend of Sakshi Dhoni. These two have known each other for a long time. In fact, both of them also attended quite a few CSK and India matches together.

Star-studded Sangeet ceremony

Hence, Sakshi and MS Dhoni made it a point not to miss this important event. They are also expected to attend the wedding today. Apart from Dhoni, other cricketers like Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan and others also attended the ceremony. It was somewhat like a mini-reunion for all of these cricketers. While Zaheer attended the wedding with his wife Sagarika Ghatge, Yuvi’s wife Hazel Keech was not to be seen. Irfan Pathan was spotted together with his son Imran.

Nushrat Bharucha, Natasha Poonawalla, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Punit Malhotra were a few other prominent guests at the event. The cricketers were spotted spending some quality time with each other. Mahi’s family was dressed in traditional attire. His daughter Ziva was the show stealer. She was dressed in a white and yellow lehenga. Furthermore, she also took it to the dance floor to shake-a-leg while her father watched the little one.

MS Dhoni’s performance in England this year was below par. He struggled to rotate the strike and found it tough to get the big shots going. He was also booed by the crowd in London. Dhoni failed to replicate his performances in IPL in the Indian blues.
