MS Dhoni looks all set for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the cricketing world eagerly waits for his return to action. The former India skipper, who will lead Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season, has not played any competitive game since the end of the World Cup in July last year.

Soon after the competition ended, he took a sabbatical from the game and is yet to end that. Consequently, he missed the tour of West Indies and New Zealand as well as the home series against South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia. He is also not a part of the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa.

There is absolutely no clarity over what the future holds for the legendary wicketkeeper. The selectors have already stated that they are moving on from Dhoni while the BCCI also did something similar by dropping the 38-year old from central contracts list. At the same time, head coach Ravi Shastri had said that Dhoni could be in contention for this year’s T20 World Cup if he does well in the IPL.

As of now, nothing is clear apart from the fact that Dhoni is all geared up for the IPL. Having faced criticism in recent months, the World Cup-winner will be keen to prove his critics wrong by doing well in the IPL.

Ahead of the new season, MS Dhoni has made it clear that he means business as he landed in Chennai on Monday with a new hairstyle. The veteran looked stunning in his new hairdo. Keeping in mind the heat and humidity of Chennai, Dhoni opted for an ideal summer look by getting his hair trimmed on the sides and keeping the volume of hair only on top.

Chennai Super Kings posted a picture of Dhoni in which one can see his new hairstyle. The Chennai Super Kings star received a hero’s welcome at the airport. The franchise also posted a 59-second video and wrote: “Every goose shall bump with first day first show feels! Just start the whistles!”

Dhoni will start his preparations for the edition from March 3 in Chennai along with Suresh Raina. The 13th edition of the IPL starts from March 29 with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium.
