Mumbai Indians come up with a hilarious meme after Rohit Sharma questions his controversial dismissal
Rohit Sharma believes he was not out.
India comfortably defeated the Windies on Thursday but Rohit Sharma’s controversial dismissal remained the point of discussion even after the match. Many of the former cricketers, after India’s innings ended, opined that there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field decision. Many felt that Rohit should’ve got the benefit of doubt. The man himself shared the screenshot of the dismissal questioning the decision on Friday.
The incident took place in the sixth over of the first innings when Kemar Roach nipped one back in sharply from good length. The batsman was committed to the front foot by then and was strangled while facing the delivery. The ball breached his defence and through the gap between bat and pad, went to the wicket-keeper Shai Hope.
A vociferous appeal followed which the umpire turned down and the confident Windies took a review. The third umpire Michael Gough saw the flat line getting disturbed when the ball was close to the bat and adjudged Rohit Sharma out. But one felt he was in a hurry to come to a conclusion as, at the same time, the ball was also close to the pad and there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the decision.
Mumbai Indians hilarious response
Even Rohit Sharma wasn’t happy with the decision and was rather surprised over being given out. He had to walk off though after the decision didn’t go in his favour. However, he took to Twitter on Friday and posted the screenshots of the gap between the bat and ball showing the evidence of him being not-out.
In response to this, Mumbai Indians, the franchise for which Rohit Sharma plays and leads in the Indian Premier League (IPL), came up with hilarious response to the tweet. They pulled out a picture from the archives when Rohit took up the cameraman’s role on a non-match day during the IPL and trolled the third umpire wittily.
