Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman had received the visa to fly to England on Wednesday morning, to join the English county cricket club, Sussex. He received his visa on Tuesday afternoon and his flight is due to leave at 10:15 am on Wednesday.
It has been a long wait for the Sussex team for getting the latest bowling sensation from Bangladesh to feature for them in the NatWest T20 Blast. He had already missed out most of Sussex’s T20 and one-day campaigns due to multiple injuries on his right leg following the IPL 2016. He had a great season in the IPL, and was a part of the David Warner led champion side, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He was awarded the ‘Emerging player of the tournament’ as well.
According to the report from bdnews24.com, the Bangladesh team camp for England series will start on the same day as their key player will be flying off to England at the time. Mustafizur will feature in the Natwest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup. Each of the tournaments is being played among 18 teams who are divided into two groups with 9 teams each.
Earlier, Sussex coach had expressed his disappointment saying, “I spoke to the Bangladesh head coach and he said he would be assessed after two weeks, which is now,” Davis said.

On July 1, Mustafizur had told reporters, “It will be great if I can go to Sussex. England comes first [when talking about] cricket, so it will definitely feel good to be there. If I am given the opportunity I will try to give my best.”
Sussex will play against Essex in the T20 Blast at Chelmsford on Thursday, which could possibly be his debut match for Sussex. Including this game, Mustafizur will be able to play in 7 matches for the side and the number might go up if Sussex qualifies for the knockouts of the competition.
