Naman Ojha appointed as captain of Board President XI against Sri Lanka
Naman Ojha will take up the captaincy role and don the keeping gloves.
Board President XI side will play a two-day warm-up game against Sri Lanka on November 11th and 12th in Kolkata. Indian selectors have named the squad for the same. Naman Ojha has been appointed as the skipper and he will don the keeping gloves too. Sri Lanka are set to land in India in the first week of November for a two-month long India tour.
The 13-man squad mostly consists of Kerala and Hyderabad domestic players. The skipper Naman Ojha will aim to make it big in the game and look out for the place in the Indian Test team, which is a distant dream for the MP glove-man. Other notable names in the squad are Sanju Samson, Avesh Khan, Jalaj Saxena and CV Milind.
Vijay makes a comeback
The MSK Prasad-led team also selected the Test squad for first two games against Sri Lanka starting from 11th of November. BCCI acting secretary revealed that Ajinkya Rahane will act as deputy to Virat Kohli in the longer format. There are no interesting inclusions in the squad, Murali Vijay made into the line-up after the recent successful surgery, Rohit Sharma also made into the squad but, he might not get a chance in the playing XI.
The Sri Lanka series comprises of three Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is, starting from November 11 to December 24. After the Lankan series, the Indian team will be busy with the South African tour starting from 5th of January, 2018.
