Indian skipper Virat Kohli and limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma are considered as two of the best batsmen of the modern era. Both Virat and Rohit can give nightmares to the opposition on their day by hammering the ball like anything all over the park. Many bowlers in the past have also admitted that they have found it hard to bowl to the Indian superstars.

However, former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir doesn’t harbor the same views. There is no doubt to the fact that Amir is one of the best fast bowlers in the cricket fraternity and is known for his raw pace and ability to swing the ball both ways. Amir was a lethal prospect to face for the best of batsmen around the globe.

The Pakistan veteran was involved in an interactive session where he was asked to pick the batsman whom he found it most difficult to bowl at during his international career with the Men in Green. Many were expecting Amir to name Virat and Rohit, however, the pacer picked the former Australian captain Steve Smith saying that his technique is very difficult and it is hard to judge his weak areas.

“I find it most difficult to bowl to Steve Smith. Because his technique is very difficult. He stands at such an angle that you don’t understand where to bowl to him. If you bowl an out-swinger, he raises the bat and leaves it. If you bowl on the pads, his flick is a solid shot for him. I find his technique really difficult while bowling,” Amir said in an interview with Cricwick.

Further, the decorated left-hander opined on the Indian captain and vice-captain saying that he has never found it challenging to bowl to the two legends. Comparing the two, the veteran said that it is relatively tougher to bowl to Virat Kohli as he performs brilliantly in pressure situations but Rohit struggles against in-swinger and easily loses his wicket.

“I haven’t found it tough bowling to either. In fact, I find it easy to bowl to him (Rohit). I feel that I can get him out both ways. He struggles against the in-swinger from a left-arm and as well as against the ball that goes away early on. I may say that I find bowling to Virat slightly tougher because he revels in pressure situations, but otherwise, I’ve never found it difficult bowling to either of the two,” said Amir.
