'Never found bowling to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma difficult, I swear' - Mohammad Amir makes a big revelation on Indian batters
Mohammad Amir added that Kohli plays well under pressure situations.
Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir grabbed all the headlines in 2020 when he announced his sudden retirement from international cricket. He cited, some management issues were constantly bothering him and that’s why he chose to step down. Even after retiring, he kept coming up with some controversial statements about his national team. However, in the most recent turn of events, Amir is turning heads for making another big statement on Indian batters.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are regarded as two of the greatest batsmen in the world currently and bowlers undergo tough times against them. On the contrary, Amir doesn’t feel any difficulty in bowling to Sharma and Kohli. In fact, the former pacer feels that they are very much in his control.
Talking about Rohit, the 29-year-old said that he finds it very easy to perform his business in front of him and can dismiss him both ways. Sharma finds it difficult to face in-swinging deliveries from left armers. However, Amir finds Kohli a little tougher opponent as he can play under pressure conditions very well.
Mohammad Amir presents his views on Kohli and Sharma
“While bowling I swear, I didn’t find bowling to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma difficult. I didn’t find it difficult at all. I find it easy to bowl to Rohit. I feel I can dismiss him both ways. He struggles against in-swinging deliveries from left-handers, and even early on, he struggles against the ball that goes away. Virat Kohli, I find it slightly tough because he handles pressure conditions really well,” said Amir in an interview with Cricwick.
Talking further, the former pacer talked about his biggest challenge in the international circuit. He stated that he finds Australia’s ace batsman Steve Smith as his toughest opponent. It is a clear fact that Smith is also regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the world currently.
“I find it most difficult to bowl to Steve Smith. Because his technique is very difficult. He stands in such an angle that you don’t understand where to bowl to him,” Amir asserted.
