Team Pakistan recently arrived in England for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. They will be riding high on confidence levels after having won their most recent ODI assignment. Unlike most other teams in the tournament, they do not have any preparatory ODI fixture for the mega event. They will head straight into the tournament after playing a couple of warm-up games.
Recently, the team unveiled their practice jerseys and now they have come up with the design for the official jerseys that they will be donning in the Champions Trophy this season. The jersey is bound to remind the fans of the iconic jersey that the team had sported back in the previous decade. Dominated by the dark green, the jersey has a shade of light green as well.
It has a very strong similarity to the jerseys that the team had played with in the 2004 edition of the tournament. Team Pakistan will start their tournament campaign with their first match against the arch-rivals India on June 4 at Birmingham. Prior to that, they will pay two warm-up matches, one against Bangladesh and the other one against Australia.
Their first warm-up game against Bangladesh would be played on May 27 and the match against Australia will be played on May 29. Earlier, the practice jerseys that were revealed had a shade inclined more on the bluish side than being on the greener note.
Good form in the recent times
Pakistan has been in a rollicking form in the recent times. They beat the West Indies in the Test series in the Caribbean Islands. The series was the farewell for two of the stalwarts of their game. Also, they had managed to beat the West Indies team in the T20 and the ODI series as well on the tour. Hence, their confidence is bound to be soaring high.
