India and New Zealand are currently fighting it out in the first of the three-match T20I series in Wellington. The visitors have opted to bowl first after winning the toss and the Kiwis have got off to a brilliant start on a flat pitch at the Westpac Stadium. The pitches in New Zealand are always flat which has urged Irfan Pathan to expect Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl fuller length deliveries during the T20I series.

The series opener has seen India’s new ball bowler going for a few runs in the powerplay. The opening duo of Tim Seifert and Colin Munro launched an assault on the visiting bowlers on a small ground. The former especially has taken the opportunity with both the hands smashing the ball to all the parts of the Stadium.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen bowling short of a length deliveries at the start of the over which prompted Irfan Pathan to tweet over the same expecting some fuller balls as the series progresses. “Really wish to see Bhuvi bowl a little fuller #INDvsNZ,” his tweet read.

New Zealand approaching 200

Meanwhile, as far as the match is concerned, the Kiwis are looking set to go past the 200-run mark batting first in the first T20I. Seifert played a magnificent inning of 84 runs off 43 deliveries and the middle-order has carried on a good job from him. Even Munro batted brilliantly for his 34-run knock off 20 balls as the duo provided the team with a great start of 86 runs in less than nine overs.

The Kiwis are on course to post a huge total ad clearly, Bhuvi will play a huge role in restricting them to anything less than 200. His two overs are still left in the death and it remains to be seen if he goes back to bowling fuller length deliveries as Irfan hopes from him.
