The current Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have always credited their success to MS Dhoni who keeps advicing them from behind the stumps. Kedar Jadhav has also evolved as more than a part-timer over the last 12 months and even he hasn’t shied away from saying that Dhoni has changed his career completely. During the fifth ODI against New Zealand on Sunday though the veteran surprised Jadhav by bringing the Marathi flavour to his advices.
Normally, Dhoni is heard suggesting different things to the spinners in Hindi on stump mic. But in Wellington he caught him off-guard by saying something in Marathi which is the mother tongue of Jadhav who hails from Maharashtra. Like every game, the experienced wicket-keeper was seen giving tips to the part-time bowler and hilariously was seen speaking in Marathi which surprised his teammate.
“Pudhe nako bhau…gheun taak (which translates to “don’t bowl further mate…get him”),” MS Dhoni was heard as saying on the stump mic during the 39th over of New Zealand’s innings.

Jadhav surprised
Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav was also in awe of Dhoni for speaking in Marathi and expressed his elation over the same. Moreover, the off-spinner with a unique action was delighted that the man he prefers was back behind the wickets after missing the last two matches. “You always feel at home on foreign tours when @msdhoni is behind the stumps… But This moment came as a real surprise…” he wrote in his tweet.

As far as Kedar Jadhav’s performance in the game is concerned, he once again brought his all-round game to the fore. After scoring a valuable 34 with the bat, he also chipped in with the ball. Jadhav sent down seven overs of his wily off-spin and conceded only 34 runs. Moreover, he accounted for Kane Williamson‘s wicket in the chase which decisively turned the game in India’s favour.
