Another positive for team India in the series is Vijay Shankar. It was not long ago when it looked improbable to look beyond Hardik Pandya for a genuine all-rounder in the side. Now, in Vijay Shankar, the team has found a very able all-rounder. Yes, Vijay had a terrible time on the night of the finals and the fans would find it tough to digest that he is actually a way better batsman than they saw in the finals.

He is capable of hitting lusty blows and has shown that in the domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu. In fact, he has also led his side in the domestic circuit. Barring his outing in the finals, where he played a sluggish knock and went for 48 runs, Vijay Shankar had a decent tournament. He bowled very well in the league games and looked like a promising prospect.

6. A healthy bench strength

The biggest positive for the Indian team in the series was their team combination. There were no Dhonis and Kohlis in the side. Also, there were no Bumrahs and Bhuvis in the bowling lineup. Despite these notable absentees, the Indian team went on to win the series.

This in itself shows the class of the Indian bench strength. The Indian team management will be very pleased to see such temperament oozing from the players who are raring to grab their opportunities as and when they arrive.
