'No one wins at the Gabba' - Brad Haddin feels Indian players are scared to play in Brisbane

The last Test between India and Australia of the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy at The Gabba in Brisbane, starting from January 15, is in trouble as the Indian team is hesitant to travel to Brisbane owing to their harsh quarantine rules. India and Australia might have to enter quarantine and will be confined in their rooms in Brisbane.

After this news surfaced, many cricket pundits and analysts came up with their own statements and views. The new addition to this list is former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin who made a sensational claim saying that India doesn’t want to play at Gabba as hardly any team has registered a victory in that venue against the host Australia.

“From a cricket point of view, why would India want to go to the Gabba? No one wins at the Gabba, Australia plays really good cricket there and no one’s won for a really long time (besides the Aussies). There’s a lot of moving parts here. The one thing is these guys have been in a bubble for a long, long time and they might just start to be getting a little bit tired,” Haddin told Fox Cricket.

Rohit Sharma and the other four players doubtful for the Third Test

This tension between Cricket Australia (CA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had surfaced after CA had asked the five Indian players including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Prithvi Shaw to isolate themselves after receiving the reports of a possible bio-bubble breach.

In a viral video on social media, the aforementioned five players were seen dining in an indoor restaurant on January 1 which is against the bio-bubble rules laid out by CA. Thus, CA asked the players to maintain distance from the main Indian squad while training and traveling.

While it’s confirmed that all the five players will be boarding the flight along with the Indian team for Sydney from Melbourne, their participation in the third Test at Sydney Cricket Ground, starting from January 7, is doubtful as Cricket Australia has set up an inquiry to get the details on whether the Indian players had breached the protocols or not.
