'Nothing is impossible' - Shoaib Akhtar after Sunil Gavaskar dismisses the idea of organizing India-Pakistan series
India played their last international game against Pakistan in 2019 World Cup.
Amid Coronavirus outbreak, the cricketing activities have come down to a halt. There is no cricketing tournament being organized in the world at any level after governments enforced lockdown in the majority of the countries due to the threats of the killer virus. The officials have drawn strict guidelines for the people to follow. Also, they have asked everyone to stay inside their houses to protect themselves from COVID-19 which has taken several lives across the globe.
Recently, Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian cricketer took a dig on Shoaib Akhtar’s idea of organizing a fund-raising three-match ODI series between India and Pakistan. Now, the former pacer has come out taking a hilarious jibe on the former Indian player’s opinion.
Shoaib Akhtar comes out with an epic reply to Sunil Gavaskar
Shoaib Akhtar had suggested an idea of organizing a bilateral series between India and Pakistan, who played their last ODI series back in 2012-13. Afterwards, he had to face the criticism for proposing such idea including Kapil Dev and Rajeev Shukla. Recently, Sunil Gavaskar also joined the bandwagon and dismissed Akhtar’s idea of an ODI series between both the nations.
The former World Cup-winner said that the chances of snowfall in Lahore are much higher than organizing an ODI series. The 70-year-old player just wanted to say that it is an impossible task. He also added that playing in the World Cup and Asia Cup is fine but an ODI series between both the countries is highly unlikely.
Now, Shoaib Akhtar has taken a hilarious jibe on Sunil Gavaskar comments. He took to his official Twitter handle and said that Lahore had snowfall in 2019 and so, nothing is impossible. His tweet read, “Well Sunny bhai, we did have snowfall in Lahore last year 🙂 So nothing is impossible.”
Everyone is well aware of the fact that India and Pakistan don’t share a good bond when it comes to cricket. Moreover, the ongoing political tension between the two nations will make the series look quite irrelevant although it might be organized for a generous cause when the world is going through global crises.
