The third Test match between England and India is underway at Headingly and the hosts have dominated the proceedings so far. India’s innings were wrapped up at 78 as the England pacers outplayed the visitors. India took the charge of the ball with Ishant Sharma opening the bowling for the side. However, the New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham had a few words on Ishant’s first over.

In his first over, Ishant Sharma bowled two no-balls and a wide. This prompted Neesham to leave his thoughts on the over bowled by Sharma. Neesham, who has recently featured in The Hundred tournament, drew parallels of the format with Sharma’s bowling. Taking it to his official Twitter account, he pointed that the Indian pacer seems to be a fan of The Hundred.

Jimmy Neesham posts a humorous tweet on Ishant’s bowling

In The Hundred tournament, one over featured a spell of 10 balls. Thus, after Ishant bowled a few extras in his first over, Neesham compared the scenario with the tournament. His Tweet read: “Ishant obviously a big fan of @thehundred, keen to bowl 10 first up #IndvsEng.” The tweet fetched in a lot of replies. His fans and followers commented laughing emojis on the post as they seemed to have been entertained well with Neesham’s funny comment.

About the ongoing Test match, James Anderson stood out for the hosts as he struck early on and removed the top order of the visitors. The three wickets of KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli in quick succession became the highlight of the first innings. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma tried to build on the innings by putting a partnership of 35 runs off 92 deliveries. However, the vice-captain’s wicket just before the lunch further provided England with the momentum.

After Lunch, Rishabh Pant too had to walk back to the pavilion quite early on. Craig Overton has been splendid for the hosts as well scalping three wickets. After being bundled up for 78, the Indian team would be all keen to put some extra-ordinary display with the ball. It would thus be intriguing to watch out so as to how the action unfolds at Headingley.
