West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has been roped in by the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants for a sum of INR 8.75 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction on Saturday. He was one of the high-profile names during the two-day event as he has been showcasing consistent performances at the highest level. The tall cricketer had taken four consecutive wickets in the series-deciding fifth T20I against a formidable England recently. Thus, he proved that he can be a handy bowler at the death.

There was an intense bidding war for having Holder on board as Lucknow and the defending champions Chennai Super Kings were interested in having him for this season. The inaugural edition winners Rajasthan Royals, as well as the five-time champions Mumbai Indians, also showed interest in having him in their team before the Super Giants outbid everyone to stake their claim on the T20 World Cup winner.

Here is how Twitter reacted to Jason Holder’s bidding
