‘Our King is back’ - Dwayne Bravo welcomes Suresh Raina to CSK ahead of IPL 2021
Earlier this week, Suresh Raina landed in Mumbai to join the CSK training camp ahead of IPL 2021.
Dwayne Bravo has welcomed his teammate Suresh Raina to the Chennai Super Kings camp with a brilliant message. Raina is gearing up to link up with his IPL teammates after skipping the last edition of the competition citing personal reasons. Before the start of IPL 2020, Raina had trained with the CSK squad in Chennai and had also travelled to UAE with the team.
Before departing to UAE, he had also announced his retirement from international cricket. His decision came just moments after his CSK skipper MS Dhoni also brought down curtains on his illustrious international career. But just before the start of IPL 2020, Raina decided to return home. His absence was clearly felt by CSK as they struggled to do well.
In the absence of their all-time leading run-scorer, CSK struggled for consistency throughout the tournament. They eventually finished IPL 2020 at the seventh position as they missed the playoff spot for the first time in their history. CSK would be hoping that the fortunes change with Raina’s return for the upcoming season of IPL.
Dwayne Bravo welcomes Suresh Raina
Earlier this week, Raina landed in Mumbai to join the CSK squad for training ahead of IPL 2021. CSK had started their preparations earlier this month in Chennai before relocating to Mumbai this week. The likes of MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and others were a part of the camp. CSK relocated their camp to Mumbai because they will play their first five league games in this city.
And ahead of the start of IPL 2021, Bravo has welcomed Raina in style. The West Indies superstar posted the message on Instagram after Raina took to the social media platform to post a selfie before hitting the nets. In the photo, Raina could be seen wearing CSK’s training kit and he posted the picture with a yellow heart caption.
Bravo was quick to comment on the post as he wrote: “Our king is back!!!”
CSK will begin their campaign on April 10, a day after the fourteenth edition of the tournament gets underway with the game between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK will be up against last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals in their tournament-opener.
