Pakistan’s young quick Naseem Shah went through the defenses of Alex Carey with a stunning delivery towards the end of day four of the first Test at Rawalpindi. The right-arm seamer had to wait for more than 20 overs to pick up his first wicket of the innings and it took a brilliant delivery finally to get his name in the wickets column.
Carey hit three boundaries in his 43-ball 19 and the disappointment was clearly visible on the wicketkeeper’s face as he walked back with just one over to go for stumps. The visitors had so far shown an excellent batting display in their first innings with all the top four batters going on to make a half-century while Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne were unfortunate to miss out on centuries despite getting into the nineties.
Travis Head was the only one to get dismissed quickly for just eight runs while Cameron Green made a valiant 48 as well. Steve Smith played out almost 200 deliveries for his 78 while Nauman Ali was the pick of the bowlers for the host side. The left-arm spinner has already picked up four of the seven wickets that have fallen and will be looking to grab a fifer on the last day of the Test.
Here’s the video of the delivery from Naseem Shah
The 19-year-old, Naseem from time to time, has been bowling some unplayable deliveries and is expected to reap more rewards if he can hit the perfect lengths a lot more consistently. He came round the wicket to the left-hander and the delivery just deviated a little bit after hitting the length that left Carey in total disarray. The commentators showed their excitement watching the delivery while Naseem wasn’t in the mood to celebrate despite bowling a peach of a delivery.

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins (4*) and Mitchell Starc (12*) were at the crease at end of day four’s play with their side trailing by 27 runs and the probability of a result in the Test has drastically gone down with just one more day to go.
