Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur blames bowlers for dismal show in Australia
Team Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has reportedly blamed the bowlers for being whitewashed 0-3 by Australia recently. As per reports in FirstPost, the coach not only blamed the bowlers for their poor show against Australia but also against New Zealand. Pakistan faced 5 consecutive Test defeats in the last couple of months.
They were earlier outplayed 2-0 by New Zealand and then were badly beaten and bruised down under by the Aussies 3-0. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan recently attended a media conference in Lahore wherein he disclosed what the coach had to say. He mentioned that the bowlers did not stick to their lines and conceded way too many runs.
“He has said the bowlers didn’t bowl line and length and conceded too many runs in claiming wickets in Australia,” Khan quoted. He further added that Mickey is keen on travelling to Pakistan and watching the domestic players in action. He wishes to strengthen the core unit. The key players that he wishes to examine are Salman Butt, Kamran Akmal, and Ahmad Shahzad.
Clearly, the head coach is keen on beefing up the unit on the experience quotient. Mickey Arthur has had a tough time since taking the coach’s position of the national side. The team has lost 8 out of the 12 matches since he has taken over.

Talking about the captaincy, Shahryar Khan cited that he is in no hurry to jump to conclusions. He wishes to meet Misbah Ul Haq first before taking any decision on him. The decision of retirement will be entirely left to him.
“It is my prerogative to appoint the captain and I want to make it clear that I don’t want to take any hasty decisions as far as the captaincy is concerned. I want to meet him and listen to him first. I want to hear what he has in mind about his future and I want to inform him about our plans as well,” quoted the PCB chairman.
