Pakistan keen on hosting Bangladesh for a full tour in December
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is trying everything possible in its power to get back the cricket action to the country. No major team has toured the country since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus. Only teams like Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have toured the nation for short limited overs series. In the recent turn of events, the board has announced that the finals of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held in Lahore this year.
While the T20 league is set to touch the Pakistani pitches, the cloud over international cricket remains. As per the recent reports in News18, the PCB is now busy convincing the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to send their national team to the ‘abandoned’ nation for a Test series in December this year. The board has asked the BCB to send their security experts to witness the PSL finals scheduled to be played on March 5. Apparently, security experts from other countries are also expected to be at the venue to see how the PSL finals fare out. One of the top sources of the board confirmed the same as well.
“The PCB has suggested that the Bangladesh government and cricket board security and vigilance experts should themselves monitor the security arrangements for the final and later on also visit Pakistan to update their superiors about whether it was safe to send the Bangladesh team to Pakistan in December,” said a source.
Since the year 2009, Pakistan is due to host the Bangladeshi side for three full tours. However, due to the security reasons, these tours never got underway. Hence, it is the attempt of the PCB to cover up for those missed tours and at the same time, bring cricket back to the country.

“They want Bangladesh to now come and play a full series of Tests, ODIs and T20 matches in December as Pakistan has been to Bangladesh thrice since 2009. If the PSL final is held smoothly than the PCB is very keen that Bangladesh tour Pakistan in December after full security assurances,” the source added further.
