Pakistan U19 skipper hails Ali Zaryab as the ‘wall’ of their team

The Pakistan Under-19 team has performed exceptionally and booked a berth in the semi-final of the ongoing World Cup in New Zealand. They lost their opening game against Afghanistan, however, stormed back to win a couple of games against Ireland and Sri Lanka. Subsequently, they topped the league table. Recently, they beat South Africa and moved a step closer to the trophy.
Ali Zaryab Asif has been one of the primary reasons for Pakistan’s success in the ongoing U19 World Cup. The Lahore-born cricketer has shown exemplary touch and has bagged a couple of Player of the Match awards. Hasan Khan, the Pakistan Under-19 skipper, hailed the left-handed batsman and heaped praises on the youngster.

“He’s the wall for Pakistan Under-19 cricket team. The way he batted today and in previous match as well, I hope he continues that form and does well in the next few matches.” Hasan was quoted as saying in a recent interaction with the media. Raynard van Tonder also praised the Pakistan middle-order batsman for his magnificent knock.
“Under the circumstances, it was a fantastic innings from him. He batted really well and was quite calm under pressure. He showed great maturity to finish the game for them, so well done to him.” Van Tonder mentioned. Pakistan will now play the winner of the India v Bangladesh game in the semi-final of the event. With India being the favourites, the arch-rivals might just be locking horns in the semi-final.
Hasan Khan also spoke about Pakistan’s approach to their potential semi-final against India. “As I said at the start of the World Cup, any team can do anything. We’re looking forward to the match, we’re not worried about which team we’re facing, we’ll stick to our basics and hopefully we’ll do well.” Khan added. Meanwhile, Zaryab will be looking to carry form his rich vein of form in the semi-final and shepherd his team to another victory.
