Pakistani fans back Mohammad Hafeez after ban, question ICC about Ashwin, Jadhav
The fans took to social media to question ICC's double standards in cases of Kedar Jadhav and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Veteran Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez drew the heat from the International Cricket Council (ICC) recently. Hafeez was banned from bowling as the ICC had found his bowling action illegal. It all started during the recently concluded Sri Lanka series in the UAE. The on-field umpires had suspected the bowling action of Hafeez during the limited overs fixtures.
The matter was escalated to the match referee. Soon, Hafeez was sent to England to get his action tested. The results were far from being in favor of the veteran all-rounder. The ICC banned him from bowling in the international cricket with immediate effect. Incidentally, this is not the first time that Mohammad Hafeez has been banned for his suspect bowling action.
He had recently served his ban and had returned to the bowling crease about a year ago. And now, he sees himself being banned again. A very dejected Mohammad Hafeez took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his disappointment at the ICC verdict. He mentioned that he feels saddened to see his remodeled bowling action being questioned again.
He insisted that he had put in a lot of effort to remodel his bowling action. And to see himself banned again is ‘saddening’. He, however, maintained that he is not giving up just yet. He is the number one all-rounder in the shortest format for a reason. He is keen on remodeling his action and getting back in action for Pakistan. He received a lot of praise from his fans.
Also, the fans questioned ICC’s double standards. They asked the ICC how can they let go the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Kedar Jadhav, and Harbhajan Singh despite their arms showing considerable amount of arm bend. Many fans posted pictures of the same to validate their arguments.
Here is how the Twitterati supported Hafeez on the social media:
