Mohammad Hasnain the teenage pace sensation from Pakistan has made quite a name for himself in his short career. The 19-year-old was even part of the Men in Green squad for the ICC World Cup 2019 but didn’t get to play a single game despite the initial bad performances by the team’s bowlers. He rose through the ranks thanks to his performance for Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League.
He can bowl fast even passing the 150kmph mark and has played 5 ODIs and 1 T20I for the national team, making his T20Is debut against England at Cardiff and ODI debut against Australia at Sharjah. He has 5 wickets so far in ODIs but has shown a lot of promise when it comes to future potential and is touted to be the next great fast bowler for the Pakistani team in international cricket.
PCB call Hasnain back from CPL, asks him to play in domestic cricket
Recently, PCB revamped their domestic cricket scene and as part of this initiative has mandated that national selection will be based on performances in the tournaments held in the country instead of T20 matches. This is something that PCB chief Ehsan Mani and new-look management have set their eyes on after the poor performance of the team in ICC World Cup 2019.
This has led to the Pakistan Cricket Board asking Mohammad Hasnain to come back home with immediate effect and revoked his NOC to participate in the Caribbean Premier League 2019 where he is playing for the currently undefeated side of Trinbago Knight Riders. Hasnain has picked six wickets so far in the ongoing tournament with a best of 3/36 against Patriots. His performance and speed at which he has bowled, has impressed everyone who has had a look at him.
Pakistan will be facing Sri Lanka for three T20Is, three ODIs and three Tests which are supposed to be played at home if everything goes well and the board has mandated that in order to be selected for this series, players need to play in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in the country. Pakistan has already named Misbah-ul-Haq as their head coach and chief selector and much is expected from him, as he is the most successful Pakistani captain.
