Team India is currently in the West Indies and playing the three-day practice match against the WICB XI. The two-match Test series against the Windies is all set to get underway on August 22 in Antigua which will also mark the beginning of the World Test Championship for both the teams. In the meantime, in a dramatic turn of events, it has been reported that the PCB has received an email of a possible attack on Team India in the Caribbean islands.

This comes as a shocking piece of news for everyone as the tensions between India and Pakistan continue to soar over the Kashmir issue. However, according to the reports in Geo TV, the PCB has acted responsibly over the incident and has reported the issue to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

It remains to be seen now, how BCCI and the world cricketing body will react to this and if the security in the West Indies will be reviewed again. More details are awaited on the matter and it remains to be seen if the ongoing practice game will go ahead as planned even as the second day is in progress.

India declare on the overnight score

Meanwhile, as far as the ongoing practice match is concerned, India declared their first innings on the overnight score of 297/5. Cheteshwar Pujara scored a century before retiring himself to give an opportunity to the other batsmen. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul didn’t do much even as Rohit Sharma shined scoring 68 runs. Even Hanuma Vihari batted well to score 37 runs and stayed unbeaten.

Currently, the WICB XI is 41/2 after 13 overs with Ishant Sharma picking both the wickets. This is a decent opportunity for India’s Test specialists to bring themselves back in the groove ahead of their first match of the Test Championship. The World number 1 Test side though might get disturbed after being aware of the shocking news which is doing the rounds.
