Peshawar Zalmis to continue conducting further talent hunt programs

Pakistan Super League (PSL) professional franchise T20 cricket team, Peshawar Zalmi, which represents the Pakistan city of Peshawar and capital of KPK province of Pakistan, would continue to organise talent hunts all over in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in near future, to scout hidden talents. Muhammad Akram, who is the head coach of Peshawar Franchise, made the announcement in a ceremony. Darren Sammy is the current captain of the team as of October 2016 and Mohammad Akram is the head coach. Kamran Akmal is the leading run-scorer for the side, while Wahab Riaz is the leading wicket-taker.

The other big names in the squad are Marlon Samuels, Eoin Morgan, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Jordan, Mohammad Hafeez, Junaid Khan, Dawid Malan, and Samit Patel. Darren Sammy was one of the first few cricketers to visit Pakistan to play the finals, post the terror attacks of 2009 in Sri Lanka. Previously, for the first two seasons, Shahid Afridi was the icon player of for them in the tournament. “Delighted to see these young boys rewarded for their hard work & I hope they inspire others to follow in their footsteps,” said Afridi about the talent hunt.

Akram makes the announcement on the talent hunt

The coach, Muhammad Akram, made the announcement in a prize distribution ceremony held, which was intended to help Pakistan Cricket. “Cricket talent in across KPK really impressed me and in future Peshawar Zalmi will do more talent hunt programs in KPK and this exercise will not only help KPK but also Pakistan Cricket,” commented Akram according to brecorder.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi Foundation handed over Rs.60,000 each to 26 Best cricketers of Peshawar Zalmi talent hunt. The team is owned by Javed Afridi of the Haier Group. Eoin Morgan, who was the member of 2017 squad, bestowed Zalmi’s Kit which he wore during the course of 2017 season to cancer patients of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital.
