AB de Villiers had risen as the most versatile batsman in modern day ODI cricket. His ability to anchor an inning or accelerate at the end has just mesmerized the cricketing world over and over. He has been awarded the Man of the match award 9 times after the 2011 World cup.

Be it IPL or ODI, his innovative batting has been the talk of the town. He recently broke the record for the fastest century in ODIs against the West Indies. He scored his ton in just 31 balls with 16 sixes and 12 fours.

He is also the most consistent batsman in last 2 years in world cricket which is evident from his no.1 ranking in ODI and no.2 ranking in Test matches. South Africa will rely heavily on him not only as a Captain, but also as a batsman.
