6. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda played the role of an all-rounder at number six in the ODIs against West Indies and he has been finishing innings quite well for India in recent times. Apart from his fine century in the T20Is at number three, Hooda has been playing valuable innings in different positions and in different formats.
Hooda had scores of 27 and 33 in the two innings he played against West Indies and he did not have enough time to settle in as a batter. He had to go after the bowling straightaway and batted with the tail mostly, which is not the easiest of jobs. However, with India grooming batters for different positions, Hooda certainly is among those being groomed.
Apart from Hooda’s batting prowess, the 27-year-old was quite handy with the ball as the sixth bowling option and he opened the bowling in the final ODI. He picked up one wicket in the series but was economical whenever he was given the ball. India certainly would be looking to add another all-rounder in the reckonings in the form of Hooda.
