Predicting the positions of 2019 World Cup teams in the 2020 T20 World Cup

The World Cup final this year was a classic example of error margins diminishing further and people cannot wait for the next ICC tournament to begin, which happens in Australia next October and November.

New Zealand turned out to be brilliant when it mattered the most in the World Cup, but there were moments when they were vulnerable and are definitely prone to making some errors. The tournament being played in the pacific conditions could help their cause, but it is difficult to see them past the semifinal mark.

A bit like team India, they depend a little too much on two or three players to do the bulk of the damage. They turn up with horses for courses teams for every tournament, just the way they did in the 2019 World Cup. Some of their T20 specialists haven’t been at their best in the last 12 months and underperformed in England as well.

Could this be Kane Williamson‘s chance of lifting the trophy having missed out on it so closely at the Lord’s? This is one team I would not want to bet on because they can do anything, from losing out on a spot in the semifinals to surprising hot-favourites to enter the finals. But as it stands, they might finish in the top four, but not in the finals.
