On a surprising note, after six defeats Royal Challengers Bangalore took a U-turn to have a victory in their kitty against Kings XI Punjab. After two back-to-back victories, KXIP lost to RCB in the previous match and next they will be facing off Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday at home.

It’s actually a contrasting scenario for both the teams as KXIP lost their previous game while Royals registered a 4-wicket win against Mumbai Indians. On a given day, KXIP top order has big hitters in likes of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul who have been in tremendous form. But, for Royals, it’s teamwork. It’s always like slow and steady wins the race sort of policy. For Kings XI Punjab clash against Royals will be a ninth match while for the Ajinkya’s men it will be the eighth match this season. With the Punjab side hanging on to the ropes of top four race, a win in the next match will be merit to their position.

Team Combinations

Kings XI Punjab

To make up for loss, KXIP may give a boost by adding Nicholas Pooran in the middle. In the match against RCB, Andrew Tye proved to be expensive. Thereby, Ashwin might think of an alternative spinner and can be noted him as Mujeed Ur Rahman. Else, the team look balanced and good to go.

Probable XI: Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Mandeep Singh, Sam Curran, Ravi Ashwin (c), Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami.

Rajasthan Royals

Buoyed by breaking the back of Mumbai Indians in the previous match, Royals look to be all set to face big-hitting Kings XI. With Jos Buttler and Rahane at their prime form, the Royals look to capitalize the batters run riot.

Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (wk), Steve Smith, Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, Shreyas Gopal, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat.

KXIP: KL Rahul

KL Rahul, have more match-winning performances for Kings XI. Rahul, who is in the race for highest run-getter is on the second spot with 335 following David Warner’s 400. With back-to-back two 50s and a century, Rahul is taking the team to win ways single-handedly.

RR: Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler’s 89, was a respite for a Royals against Mumbai Indians. It’s very important for him to continue his form for the Royals side. They have been a lot of dependencies on Buttler and Stokes. Considering the fact that Buttler may not play, it’s all on Buttler to keep the scorecard ticking.
