The skipper of Karachi Kings Imad Wasim was injured during the game against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He fell on the head while taking the catch at the mid-on and was then stretchered off the field following concerns about his health. However, Karachi Kings eventually lost the match which went right down the wire to the super over.

The unfortunate incident took place in the 19th over of the second innings when Sohail Khan miscued a full toss which was lofted only towards mid-on. Imad Wasim took a wonderful running backwards but lost his balance and fell on his head on the ground. Though there was a smile on his face after affecting the dismissal, he did not move. All the support staff including the physios ran towards him on the ground as there were concerns all around. Soon, he was taken off the field and there were chances of him being concussed as the on-field action resumed.

An update about his health

Though the action resumed, everyone was concerned about the health of Imad Wasim who was taken to the hospital by then. The owner of Karachi Kings Salman Iqbal soon rushed to the hospital after the match was finished and met the skipper of the team. He took to Twitter to inform the concerned cricket fans about his health and mentioned that he was fine and safe. He also said that he will be kept overnight in the hospital and will be under observation.

“Alhumdulilah @simadwasim is fine! Thanks to Allah , Just left the hospital after seeing him … he will be kept overnight but alhumdulilah he is strong and doing well… all our prayers for the #skipper …,” Salman tweeted.

It would be interesting to see if he will play their next encounter on March 15 against Peshawar Zalmi. Kings are currently fourth on the points table after playing 8 matches and are yet to confirm their place in the playoffs.
