Former New Zealand cricketer Luke Ronchi has become a hot property in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League. Ronchi has been in a phenomenal form this season and has been instrumental in the successful campaign of the Islamabad United. His heroics at the top of the order has seen the United camp march in to the ultimate game of the tournament.

Currently, Luke Ronchi has mustered 383 runs in the 10 matches that he has played thus far. He has hit three fifties this season. More importantly, he is the leading run getter in the season at the moment. He recently revealed his secrets behind the successful campaign. Ronchi remarked that he has been trying to be calm at the crease. That has helped him do wonders in the season thus far.

“I try and relax as much as possible and just chill out by not thinking about cricket too much. I believe that if you think too much about the game the whole day your brain will get tired before you can even get to the game. So I turn up with a clear mind and confident of what you are doing and happy in what you are doing and it worked out in the end,” Luke Ronchi quoted as per the quotes in Gulf News.

Getting the calmness from Misbah

Well, calmness certainly comes from the wise old man in the team. Luke Ronchi admitted that the United skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has a very calming influence on the players. Furthermore, he quipped that he is expecting a sell out crowd for the finals. He hopes that they do not get to play against the Karachi Kings in the final. The final three games of the season will be played in Pakistan and the players have already arrived in the country.

“It flows from him [Misbah] that calmness in him. It is going to be a massive crowd out there [in Karachi] and hope we don’t play against Karachi [Kings] so we may get support around,” Ronchi mentioned.
